​At ShevenArt & Creations, I believe in rescuing items that some may consider trash and giving these items new purpose and life in my art – cast iron grates, shower curtain rings, old scraps of galvanized metal, wooden shipping crates.   The repurposing of these items leads to each design being super unique and with imperfections that deliver character.

Most of my work involves pointillism techniques which is the process of layering dots on top of each other to create two dimensional images and patterns.  The different textures are done with acrylic paint with a variety of paint mediums added and then layered on top of each dot..  Most all of my pieces also have glow-in-the-dark dots which creates a cool effect under black light and then in complete darkness.

The overall process for each piece takes an average of 80, and some over a 100+, hours to complete and can take months at a time.   The work is slow and methodical but also very soothing and calming at the same time.   A time to escape and just let the rest of the day go!
